Anthony J. Pantaleo Sr.

	A memorial graveside service was held Friday, October 10, 2003 at 11:30 a.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum for Anthony J. Pantaleo Sr., who died Monday, October 6, at home after a brief illness.
	Tony was born and raised in Du Quoin.  After serving in the Armed Services in World War II, he attended and graduated from the Missouri School of Mines at Rolla with a degree in Mining Engineering.  He served his country again during the Korean War and afterward settled in Louisiana as an employee of The California Company (Chevron) as a field engineer.  In 1965, Tony began the consulting firm of A. J. Pantaleo and Associates, Inc. and was one of the first to offer professional engineering consulting services to the Gulf Coast oil and gas industry.  He retired from consulting in 1988 to spend more time with his family and many friends and to enjoy golf and playing cards, his favorite recreational pastimes.  He was a long-time member of Oakbourne Country Club and served a number of years on the board of directors.  He was also a member of the Petroleum Club of Lafayette, the Society of Petroleum Engineers and was a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana.
	He is survived by his children, Ann Hood and husband Mark of Dallas, Texas, Tony Pantaleo Jr. and wife Bonnie of Lafayette, John Pantaleo and wife Karen of Houston, Texas, Cathy Pantaleo of San Ramon, California; his seven grandchildren, Rachael and Regan Hood, Shauntell Pantaleo, Michael and Diane Pantaleo and Jennifer and Dale Wooddy.  He is also survived by two brothers, Vince and wife Lucille Pantaleo of St. Clair Shores, Mich. and Andy and wife Clara Pantaleo of Tampa. Fla., as well as three sisters, Catherine and husband Robert Fish of San Diego, Calif., Lena and husband Alan Meyers of Centralia and Sara and husband Joe Belsito of Grand Rapids, Mich.
	His wife of 43 years, Bette S. Pantaleo and his parents, Joseph and Vitina Pantaleo preceded him in death.
	The family requested visitation be observed from 2 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 9 and again on Friday, October 10 from 10 a.m. to the time of services. 
	A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday.
	The family wishes to thank Dr. Harold Chastant, Dr. Patrick Harrington and the staff of Lafayette General Hospital oncology group for their kindness during his stay there, as well as Donna Vidrine and Brother Luke of Hospice of Acadiana for their help during his stay at home.
	The family also asked that any donations made be sent to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, La.  70503-3240.
	Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, was in charge of all funeral arrangements.
